Create a new search datasource

Creating a new Datasource is easy in Squiz DXP Search. The below steps will help you do it!

1. Start from the Funnelback Administrative Dashboard

2. Click on Create data source

3. Select "web"

Most data sources will be web based. As you can see from this list, we have many different options. Data source types such as "Youtube" and "Facebook" require API key configuration.Select "web"

4. Click on Continue

5. Type a name for the new data source, in this case it is "Our new data source"

6. Click on Proceed

7. Type the URL for the new data source

This controls both the start point that funnelback will crawl AND which URLs to include. So in this newly created data source, Funnelback will start indexing "google.com" and any url that starts with "google.com"

From this step we can also set subfolders to exclude from the crawl. For example in this screenshot funnelback will not crawl any URL containing "google.com/cgi-bin"Type the URL for the new data source

8. Click on Proceed

10. Click on Finish

At this point, we have created the data source. Now lets add it to an existing Search PackageClick on Finish

11. Click on dashboard…

12. Click on add…

We can add this data source to any existing Search PacakageClick on add…

13. Click on Attach

From this screen you can also create a new data sourceClick on Attach

14. Click on the dropdown box

15. Select the new data source

16. Click on save…

Click on save…

17. Thats it! The Search package now contains the new data source

Once the data source finishes crawling, its search results will begin to display
