Create a synonym
Synonyms in Squiz DXP Search can be used to expand terms or acronyms into its equivalent meaning.
Let's add a new a synonym to your search
Create a synonym for a different term your search users might use when looking for a particular page.
1. From the marketing Dashboard, Click on Synonyms
2. Click on Add new
3. In the "When these keywords are submitted box", type "rob"
4. In the "Transform them to" box, type "robert the bruce"
5. Click on Add
6. Lets preview our changes, in the search box at the top right of the screen, type "rob" and click search
7. Notice Robert the Bruce is at the top of the results
Right now these changes are not live.
8. Lets check the live version of the search. Go back to the marketing dashboard, and click the Preview button next to the search bar at the top right of the screen
9. Select Live from the dropdown menu and search for "rob" again
10. Notice the difference in results
11. To publish our changes to synonyms, navigate back to the Synonyms page and click on Publish next to our newly created synonym
